How it works
The keys
- Left Alt + Prev select the previous app.
- Left Alt + Next select the next app.
- Left Alt + Volume Up or Down change that app only.
- Left Alt + Mute mutes that app only.
- Without Left Alt, every key acts normal.
The default step is 5 percent. Change it in settings.
Why master volume stays put
Hoppr registers each combination with Windows rather than installing a global keyboard hook. Windows sends the combination to Hoppr instead of the shell, so the system volume panel never appears and master volume never moves.
Audio levels come from WASAPI, the same source the Windows Volume Mixer uses. One entry per app, the same as Volume Mixer.
Why the game is skipped
When hop mode starts, Hoppr notes which app has focus and hides it from the list. Music and browsers stay, the game does not. Turn that off in settings if you want the game listed too.
What the overlay shows
- The app name and its icon.
- The volume bar and level.
- Muted when that app is muted.
- A one line hint for the first few uses, then nothing.
The overlay is click through, never takes focus, and hides about a second after the last key.
Requirements
- Windows 10 version 1809 or newer, and Windows 11. 64 bit.
- No administrator rights.
- No install step. The exe is the whole app.
